Nuffield sits just over four miles east of Wallingford, The ancient Ridgeway path runs through the parish, alongside the scheduled ancient monument Grim's Ditch, and the Chiltern Way crosses its northern edge. It is home to Nuffield Place, home from 1933 until his death in 1963 to William Morris, Lord Nuffield, a founder of Morris Motors and one of the great philanthropists of his day, who took his title from the village.
