Winterbrook

Stoke Row is slightly larger, its best-known landmark by far is the Maharajah's Well: a striking Victorian monument funded in 1863 by the Maharajah of Benares in gratitude to local landowner Edward Anderton Reade, with an ornate pavilion topped by a golden elephant - a genuinely unusual and photogenic piece of local history. The village church, dates to 1846. Stoke Row also has real pub pedigree: the 17th-century Crooked Billet is celebrated as one of England's first gastropubs. The Cherry Tree Inn is the other long-standing local on the High Street. There's also a Church of England primary school.

Both villages have that classic Chilterns character- leafy, low-key, and popular with buyers wanting rural seclusion within easy reach of Wallingford, Reading and the Thames Valley commuter routes.

With over 25 years’ experience in the area Winterbrook approaches each let with a focus on clarity, careful presentation and targeted exposure, ensuring properties are introduced to the right audience rather than simply listed widely. Identifying the strong links to Reading and London with the commuter audience.
